Pain self-management news

We have all heard the saying "Step Up"—usually from people who mean well, but who may not live with, or understand what it is like to live with, persistent pain, long-term health conditions, or both.

So, how do we incorporate that well-known saying, "Step Up," into a Supported Self-Management Plan?

In our Supported Self-Management Plan, we can use "Step Up" to encourage positive action. Here is how you can frame it:

Step Up ‼️

1. Take Action:

When we face a challenge, remember to "step up." This means taking a small, manageable action to move forward.

2. Set Goals:

Write down one goal you want to achieve. This could be engaging in a new, meaningful movement or eating healthier.

3. Ask for Help:

If things get tough, "step up" and ask for support. This could be from a friend, family member, healthcare provider, or Supported Self-Management Coach.

4. Celebrate Success:

When we reach a goal, celebrate! It is important to recognise we progress and hard work.

Remember, every small step counts!
