- Over the past 30 + years, Pete has become an experienced teacher/coach/speaker on Pain Self-Management, here in the UK and also around the world.
- He has travelled the world speaking at international pain conference and teaching at various pain schools and universities.
- He was asked by the Dept of Health to write a pain management module for the NHS Expert Patients Programme
- Pete has dedicated his life supporting people living persistent pain and long-term health conditions.
- He is a honorary member of the British Pain Society
- Also a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain and European Pain Federation
Pete's journey, qualifications and experience
- Helping and supporting people with long-term health conditions since 1987
- Started his first support group in 1992 for people with persistent back pain
- 2001 wrote the Pain Toolkit
- Attended the INPUT Pain Management Programme in 1996 - since 1997 not had the need to take pain medication
- In 2002 attended Dept of Health course to become a Stamford Uni Trainer for Self-Management
- From 2002 he worked for the NHS Expert Patients Programme as Senior Trainer (England) for persistent pain
- 2004 Qualified Gity & Guilds Teaching adults
- 2006 Qualified City & Gulds in Public Speaking
- 2011 - present. Writing, pain self-management information for patients and healthcare professionals
