Podcast - Pete Moore talks to Erwin Lindén about his journey, self-management and the Pain Toolkit

In this episode, Erwin talks to Pete Moore, of course on the subject of pain. Pete is almost 70 years old and has, as he says, "not an academic cell in his whole body". But he knows a thing or two about pain that many academics have no idea about. Pete developed severe back pain in the early 90s. And has walked the long tough road as a chronic pain patient up to a point where he was close to taking his own life. But instead he created the guide "The Pain Toolkit: Pain Self Management". This is to help others find their way out of the care carousel and find skills to manage the pain and take back Life.

The Pain Toolkit has now been around for more than 20 years, translated into around 16 different languages and printed in almost a million copies.

Pete lectures, holds workshops and coaches in pain and self-management. He has assignments from both the European and international organization for pain (EFIC & IASP) where, among other things, he works for the patient's voice.

In this two-part conversation, Pete shares his story, key skills for managing long-term pain and what it's like to work as a pain coach, how to look at 'recovery' from pain, what it's like for men with pain and much more.
