Below and attached are 5 Simple and doable ideas to promote International Pain Supported Self Management Week 16th – 20th February 2026 how organisations and individuals can get involved.
Please share with us, how you will be taking part.
1. Awareness Campaign on Social Media:
- Create a series of informative posts and graphics that highlight the importance of pain management and self-care. Encourage followers to share their own stories and tips using a dedicated hashtag (e.g., #PainSelfManagementWeek2026). Collaborate with influencers or organisations in the health sector to amplify the message.
2. Workshops and Webinars:
Organise virtual or in-person workshops focusing on self-management techniques for pain self management, including mindfulness, meaningful movement, eating healthier and of course self management strategies, such as:
Invite health professionals and self managers to speak and share their expertise, providing attendees with practical skills they can use in their daily lives.
3. Resource Distribution:
- Develop and distribute easy-to-understand informational materials, such as pamphlets or digital guides, that outline self-management strategies for pain. This could include tips, coping mechanisms, and links to further resources. Make sure to make these resources available in community centres, clinics, and online platforms.
4. Community Support Groups:
- Host support group meetings (in-person or online) where people experiencing persistent pain can share their experiences and self management strategies. This can create a sense of community and help participants feel less isolated. Invite guest speakers or practitioners to facilitate discussions and provide valuable insights.
5. Challenge or Pledge Campaign:
- Create a challenge inviting people to commit to a daily self-care activity related to pain management throughout the week (e.g., meaningful movement, pacing meditation etc). Participants can share their experiences on social media, and organisations can offer resources or incentives (like discounts or free classes) to encourage participation.
