Pain Toolkit workshop 31st August - A Co-Production with Physical Therapist Michelle Morrow and Pete Moore from the Pain Toolkit

Posted by 'PeteMoore' Sat, July 06, 2019

On 31st August Michelle Morrow and Pete Moore, will be running a joint workshop, promoting and explaning pain management skils.

ALL participants receive a FREE Pain Toolkit Handbook especially for written for healthcare professionals

Pete says...This is an ideal opportunity for healthcare professionals to learn extra pain self-management skills from both a Physical Therapist and a person, who successfully self-manages persistent pain.

Michelle says...My goal is to always put my patient in the driver’s seat. I am a facilitator, supporter, coach, cheerleader and advocate. They are the star player.

So called “soft skills”, like building a therapeutic alliance,  listening, communication skills, and assisting people to behaviour change- these may be the most difficult and most important things we do as health care professionals.

Topics Michelle will be covering during her workshop are

  • Therapeutic alliance
  • Listening and communication
  • Motivational interviewing (MI)
  • Goal setting
  • Pacing
  • Assisting people with flare up coping strategies
  • Assisting people with acceptance so they can move forward
